Put Yourself On The Map!

As Little Pawns, we get to show our love for Kris Allen in many ways: we buy the music, attend the shows, add twibbons to our avis, vote in polls, comment on articles, request songs, scrobble, and support charities.  We've come up with another fun way to show your support and get to know your fellow fans - place a marker on our Little Pawns Map!

We've color-coded the map to match our regional team designations.  International Pawns: if your country is not yet shaded gray, have no fear, we will shade in more countries if markers appear.  Please note: this is a public map, so do not put your exact address, just your general location.

Thanks to Linda, Ginny, and Christi for their generous offers to donate to charity for pins placed on the map. And thanks to all your participation, we've reached our maximum donation with over $200 total going to charity (Music Empowers Foundation and Donors Choose)! Once again Kris Allen fans prove how great they are. If haven't put yourself on the map, please still do so! We want to know where all our members are located when it's time to start promoting new music and a new tour!

To place a marker:

• Click on Additions, then Add Marker-Simple. 
• In Entry Name, enter what you want your marker to be called.  This can be your first name, your LP name, a nickname, however you want to be known.
• In Location, enter the city and state (or country) for where you want the marker to appear.
• Choose a marker color (this can match your team color or not, entirely up to you).
• Click Submit to complete the process.

Note: We're seeing some duplicate markers, so another helpful hint: If you can't see your marker, before trying to add it again, make sure it isn't hiding behind an existing marker in the same location.  You can do this by going to the list - on the right side of the screen, there are little double arrows, click on that to expand the list.  It's in alpha order, but two sets depending on upper or lower case.  Most likely you will find yourself on the list.  You can click on your name there to look at your marker.

Optional: You may add a few details to your marker if you like.

• Click on your marker and then on your marker name.
• Click on the Details tab if you'd like to enter your Little Pawns and/or Twitter name.
• Click on the Media tab if you'd like to link to a picture or video.

What about privacy?  As we mentioned above, this is a public map.  We don't need personal information, we just want a general idea of where the pawns are.  You can make it as vague as you like - using a nearby city or a state capital if you don't want to put your actual town, using a general label like "big fan from Boise" if you don't want to give a name.

What if I don't want to register but still want a marker?  If you're shy about registering, but still want to be represented, no problem.  Registration with ZeeMaps is not required! If you want us to place the marker for you, just leave a comment below or send an e-mail to littlepawnsmap@gmail.com letting us know where you want your marker to be placed and what you want to label it. We'll do the rest!

Can I change my marker color? Yes, you can change your color and/or details (if you were registered when you placed your marker).  Click on your marker, and when the information bubble appears, click on your name.  This will bring up a window where you can edit text, add information, or select a different marker color.

Can I adjust the placement of my marker?  Yes, if you were registered when you placed your marker. First zoom in (zoom bar is on the left) to get a clear view of your marker and where you want to move it to.  Then bring up your information bubble as above, and in the lower right corner there is a circle with an arrow inside.  Click on this, and a window will pop up with instructions on dragging and dropping your marker. 

It's so crowded, how can I see my marker?  Crowded is good, lots of fans participating!  But if you want a better look at your marker or a specific region, use the zoom bar on the left to zoom in and out.
