Looking Forward

Hi Pawns!

In case you missed it a little while ago, Kris tweeted the following encouraging statement on the day's news:

"I wanted to let everyone know that RCA and I have decided to split ways. I thank them so much for everything that they did for me. There are so many people there that contributed to my becoming the artist that I am and I will miss them all. In saying that, I am really excited about what is ahead. The path has never been clearer to me. I love what I do and I will never stop. So, to my amazing fans, thank you so much for everything so far but things are only gonna get more fun. I promise."

We're excited too! As you know, Kris has a slew of concerts coming up and a management team dedicated to doing everything possible to give him the career he deserves. Little Pawns will continue to work with Kris's management to promote all things Kris and we hope you will too!

As evidenced by today's email, the updating of both RCA's website and KAO with Kris's latest cover, and new events added to KAO, RCA is doing what they can to ease the transition. This being the case, we'd caution against venting any frustrations you may have towards them online. What Kris needs now is to know that he has our continued support. We can show him that he does by focusing on the positive and doing our best not to dwell on things that have already happened.

We have much to look forward to with the upcoming shows, the Kris Calendar, and we are already working on new ways to help get Kris's music out to the masses. As the song goes... "With a little faith and a little soul we can't go wrong!"

Comment by shoriagirl on September 21, 2012 at 4:27pm: I understand Kris excitement of being relieved from the clutches of RCA, however, I don't see why the fans should be excited about it. No major label contract means that a) we'll never hear Kris amazing music on the radio; b) we're not gonna get Kris music in the form of an album any time soon, if ever; and c) international fans will never get to hear Kris live.

What is there to be excited about?

As far as we understand, Kris's agreement was specifically with RCA. Since he's no longer with RCA, he wouldn't necessarily stay connected to Sony. But we don't know his label plans at this time

Comment by Little Pawns on September 20, 2012 at 9:52pm: Our words were meant to suggest, not dictate. They came out of respect for Kris, by following his lead, and from our own experiences with RCA. As Kris stated in his tweet, he's parting with them on good terms and excited for what's to come. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but we can tell you that he is sincere in his remarks, and that there is a lot of love and respect for him on RCA's part as well.

They have not promoted Kris' album or single and, I believe, they intentionally sabotaged him. As a Kris street team you need to be supporting Kris and not evil corporation that did everything they could to destroy him.

(I'm not good with change)....also I don't really know what that means for the future. Is he still with Sony and looking for a new label within Sony? I don't think I know any artist who left RCA...so maybe someone who gets all the record company thingsies can help me out.
