Did you hear? Kris was on Idol last night! He sounded great (performance below) and a lot of people took notice. In addition, he was the #1 and #2 worldwide trending topic on Twitter last night and both The Vision of Love and the pre-order page for Thank You Camellia rose significantly on iTunes charts following the performance. We thought y'all might appreciate a round-up of all the praise (and pretty pictures) rolling in.

This is by no means an exhaustive list (check out the always great Krisallenmedia for that), but if you think we're missing something important please let us know in the comments. And make sure to follow the links and comment if you liked the article!

USA Today Idol Chatter Snippet: "Kris sits at a rotating, weathered upright piano, and the song has a throbbing soft-rock beat. As I've said before, this song grows on me every time I hear it -- and tonight's no exception. I love the message, but, more than that, it's the music that gets me -- each performance, each mix brings out new qualities. For instance, I'd never noticed the anthemic quality of the sing-along breakdown, but this performance plays it for all its worth. Maybe it's the waving lights in the audience, but it's tremendously effective."

AJ in the Morning (San Diego): Radio Interview following his performance (Interview Posted at Bottom):

On writing all the songs on his upcoming album...

"Whether they come from just me or writing with other people, all of the ideas, melodies and lyrics mostly come from me.

On how he got the green light to write the entire album...

I just kept sending in songs that they like, so I think they just started trusting me. It's a nice feeling to be recognized as a good songwriter.

RyanSeacrest.com Snippet: "Season 8 'American Idol' winner Kris Allen performed his new single “The Vision of Love” off his upcoming album Thank You Camellia. Singing on a spinning piano, we were reminded once again why audiences fell in love with him in the first place."

PopCrush Snippet: "Allen demonstrated why he won the ‘Idol’ title during his season, seated at a rotating wooden piano while he sang his easy, breezy new anthem, which had a ’70s singer-songwriter feel. This is the kind of song you want to crank when the top is down, the windows are open and the day starts out at 85 degrees. The singer has such an effortless performance style and obviously loves what he does. It doesn’t hurt that he is incredibly easy on the eyes, too. Bring him home to mom, stat."

The Hollywood Gossip Snippet: "But do you know what did not come as a surprise to any veteran viewer of this Fox hit? That former champion Kris Allen took to the stage that made him famous and impressed once again, this time with the debut of his latest single, 'The Vision of Love.'"

Entertainment Weekly Snippet: "Season 8's Kris Allen! Awww. I always forget how attractive he is. Kris sounded great on "The Vision of Love" from his album Thank You Camellia. Is Camellia the weirdo who gifted him a spinning stone-carved piano that looked like it had been airlifted from an animated castle in a Disney movie? She should be thanked indeed. That thing was mesmerizing."

City Newspaper Snippet: "Kris Allen took the piano to sing the first single off his new album. And I LOVED IT. It's a wonderful, instantly catchy pop song. I was not a huge fan of the falsetto on the chorus, but I downloaded the song off i tunes before he even finished. It's not really what's hot in pop-music right now - that would be soulless, monotone electronic nonsense - but it's a really solid single."

A GREAT interview with AJ in the Morning (San Diego).  Be sure to listen to the actual interview which is posted at the bottom of the page.

Here are a couple of highlights:

On how he got the green light to write the entire album...
