Weekly Mission: Promote Minglewood Hall show in Mempis, TN 10/28/10

In our rush to promote the Blackbird Academy of the Arts benefit on Wednesday, October 27, we completely forgot about another event: a solo show coming up on October 28 at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN.

Here is the game plan:

We need volunteers from the Tennessee (preferably Memphis) area to:

Call Minglewood Hall and ask them if they need any help selling tickets. Some venues will allow people to sell a number of tickets. If we're allowed to sell some tickets, we may be able to get them on Craigslist, too.
While you have Minglewood Hall on the line, ask them if we are allowed to reprint the flyers they have on their website that promote Kris's show. If the answer is yes, we need to put up flyers in college campuses and high schools. This is an all ages show, by the way.
If you have the opportunity, stop by the venue to see if they have a poster or any sort of promotional flyer or tool posted in or around the venue promoting the event.
If you are going to the show, post on your Facebook status or Twitter account that you are attending the show and ask if anyone would like to go and needs to get tickets.

Tomorrow the Little Pawns Twitter will be tweeting about the event to local media (news stations, radio stations, etc) in Tennessee to get them to RT and promote the event. We will need people to continue RT-ing this so these outlets have a higher chance of seeing them and retweeting.

If you are from the Memphis/Tennessee area, please let us know below. If you have any ideas as to how to help spread the word on this event, go ahead and sound off below. This is a Kris solo show everybody! We need to maximize turnout!

Im going to this show. In in Arkansas so not sure if I can be of ~too much help with these things. But I will email the morning djs at our local pop/top 40 station and ask if they can mention it on air. I'll tweet Fox 16 too and ask if they can mention it on air too.

Since no one posted about calling the venue and getting some information I went ahead and gave them a call.

The lady I spoke with told me she didn't see why we couldn't print & post fliers. She said it was more promo. Also, the event is all ages and the venue hold 1,200 people. She didn't tell me the amount of tickets they had left because she says she's not allowed to have that info.

From what it seems like they do need help selling tickets. So they would appreciate our help! Another thing we could do is contact the radio stations in the area and be like "Did u know Kris Allen is having a show here next week? You should let ur listeners know!" .. or something like that lol. I would do it, i just need their contact info & stuff since idk stations in that area.

Thank you so much for doing that, Yendi! Alice, it would be great if the LP Twitter could focus on this for now. I see you've been busy tweeting about it already so this is great! Now the only thing is to look for people who are willing to put up some flyers in the Memphis area.

if anyone is interested, the venue's flyers are here. I don't know how to resize this to a bigger resolution, though.

I just enlarged the file by 150%, and added screen, brightness and contrast filters, and made it in black and white, and set it so it prints two to a page.

It looks shitty on file by prints out nicely in B&W. Where should I upload?

You can upload it on the Photos tab. I can approve it right away so it shows up. Thanks!

OK, done.

I accidentally uploaded the wrong file at first (the wrong file ends in .png). The correct file ends in .jpg.

The text below "THURSDAY, OCT 28TH" was a lost cause (though I did try to up the contrast and fiddle with the coloring to make it a little intelligible) so I added a text box that included pricing (the original flyer did not) and the website. Hopefully that's OK.
