I feel mislead. I'm sorry that it hurts you that I feel I was mislead but... I do feel that way. I don't see how I can... not feel that way? I got an implication from your previous communications, a strong one, that apparently you didn't mean to give at all.
i'm really sorry that you feel misled. i'm really confused as to what implication you thought i was giving? did you feel that i was very anti-label? i'm not always pleased with how they market kris and feel they could do more, which i still feel - but dealing with his management is necessary to accomplish some things. it's a matter of working with the system, i guess, not against it?

we're trying to help promote an artist...not overthrow his management company. being recognized by his management and the artist himself is only going to help pawns help kris.

in the end, this whole thing was started as a way for us to come together and try and help kris. the best way for us to do this was to become an official entity so that we have access to information, rights, and tools (ie download cards etc) to help promote him.
The implication that I had gotten from your previous post had been much more proactive, I suppose. I read the part about becoming Kris's official street team in time but had thought that you were saying that when Kris's management had proven themselves, such a thing would happen, rather than the other way around. Because of the swiftness of the decision and the way it was just announced rather than discussed, it felt like caving in, rather than doing something helpful. And it appears that y'all have been coming to an agreement with Kris's people but it was all behind the scenes. I would have appreciated transparency.

Does that help?
I can honestly see your point about the transparency, and I appreciate you talking with me. I guess that by including the point about hoping to become the official street team i thought that was open and honest. i've also mentioned here and there, and in chat, that it was something we were persuing. i've never heard "but wait, elle, we don't want to be official" in any of the responses to my initial email. however, perhaps it could have been handled better. we really are just learning how to do these things - and didn't forsee any negatives of becoming an official recognized entity.

with regards to "coming to an agreement" there wasn't really much to agree upon? it wasn't really an agreement, other than to run printed materials by them - which, as i mentioned earlier - i feel good about doing anyway since we were really skirting the line between legal and infringement in some cases.

unfortunately, kris's management doesn't have anything to "prove." if we want to help kris, we'll best be able to do that by working with, not against, the people whose job it is to market him. it is an honor, i think , and it's something we'd been trying to get happen in order to get some of the benefits for the group i've talked about in my prior comments. i think it's a testament to everyone's work on the site that your work was noticed and thought highly enough of to be recognized.
i've also mentioned here and there, and in chat, that it was something we were persuing.

Perhaps you could post chat logs in the future if y'all are discussing official LP business, as I was not even aware that there were chats. Or are they not official? I guess it sort of feels right now like there's the 'real' Little Pawns who talk to the management and know the secrets workings, and then there are the, well, the pawns. Which is not the greatest feeling in the world.

I think some people (including me) didn't really give the 'attempting to become official' part as much weight as it apparently needed, because it seemed like a really small part of the letter. It seemed much more like a 'maybe in three years' sort of goal rather than "WE ARE WORKING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TOMORROW'. Because it was so casual.

But maybe from your perspective, it was casual because you felt that it was obvious?

unfortunately, kris's management doesn't have anything to "prove."

They do to me. Because I don't trust them. They may or may not bother doing anything because of that, sure, but, yes, in order for me to trust them, they have to prove themselves trustworthy. It doesn't happen automatically.

And I'm leaving now to go take the bus home, so please don't feel like I'm ignoring you if I don't answer right away!
That makes sense. We could post minutes of the mod meetings. The chats I was referring to were the chats on pawns here, in the chat box. Also, ive been crazy for thee past two weeks so im sorry I canty be more specific

To me being official was a very logical step, and I appreciate you trying to.see it from.my.perspective.
Minutes of future mod meetings would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I appreciate you talking to me about this.

I've never actually gotten around to checking out the chat function on here! I need to remember to do that.

And I'm sorry that you've been having a rough past few weeks.

Any chance we can turn on https for the login form? Thanks!
