- To free up space (we are on a limited media network at the moment. Until we can afford more space we have to limit our uploads)

- The flyers were for past concerts

I understand that we have to save space because of the limited storage, but when LP have the funds for more storage later, I hope we get to keep all the promo art even though they are for past concerts. Altho I made majority of the flyers that were posted here, I do come back often to view others' work and enjoy doing so.

The photo gallery is my fave section of the LP web site because when someone visits the site and goes to the photo section, it looks like we have been really busy doing lots of stuff (because honestly the forum is not exactly very active, and for someone who doesn't listen to radio, song requests discussion is not exactly relevant altho they are highly useful for promoting Kris).

Is there a hotlink option for the gallery? My flyers are all hosted on Flickr anyway so if we could do that, we don't have to use LP's storage space.

- Copyright issues (any flyers we use that contain Kris' image and likeness will have the go through the proper channels before they can be put up for distribution).

Does it mean we cannot make flyers for Kris even though we have the photographers' full permission to do so?

Thanks a lot for answering! :)

Yes, once we get the necessary funds to be able to host more media, we will definitely be able to store more (if not all) of our work. I agree that the photo gallery is a great way to view past efforts by members of the team, and I assure you that once we are able to expand our storage space we can add all those old flyers back (I had saved them as well, in the event we would want to put them back up later), but it is good to know you also have them stored on Flickr. If you want, you can give me the link to your Flickr album and I can link it from here, which would be much better since the pictures are hosted on Flickr and not here. Ning has the capability of having a Flickr app, so that would be an option as well.

As for the copyright issues, yes, despite us having the photographer's permission to use their pictures, from now on we will need to have the flyers approved by management before they are put through for use and distribution on this site.

We really appreciate all the effort you put into those flyers and I apologize that we had to take them off under these circumstances. Thank you for your questions!

Oh... does it mean whenever I make a new flyer, I'll send it to LP and you guys will help me get approved by management? If that's the case, how long do you think it'll take? Do you think we'll need to get the old flyers approved as well? Otherwise we wouldn't be able to post them here, right?

I'll post the Flickr links to this post soon. Thanks again for your help! :)
We will operate as we used to operate. There will be no problem posting the flyers, the permission we need is for when we need to mass produce them. Go ahead and make the artwork you would like and it will be posted on the site. If we need to reproduce them for flyers to give out, we will then need to go through the proper channels to do it, and we'll take care of that for you :)

I'm curious about this - should we have gotten the permission before, then? Or is Little Pawns going to affiliate with Kris's official management in some way and that's why 'from now on' we need permission not just from the photographer but from his management?

It just seems like this makes the site more of a volunteer-arm of Kris's official PR rather than a grass-roots fan network. And I thought a big part of the reason that this site existed was because Kris's PR is horrible at doing his image and tries to make him look as boring as possible. So... running everything through his management seems like LP is giving up what actually made me join it. Are I just confused by what you're saying?
Well. I guess I got my answer.
These are the ones I made. I'll talk to my friend @orchidas about the ones she made and either she or I will post those links later. Thanks! :)

\hi girl,

\i wanted to respond to this over the weekend but \i had my show and was away from computer all weekend. \by now you've heard that \lp has become the official street team, which \i had talked about in my initial email and welcome post - our plan and hope was always to become official - in large part because it will be easier for us to operate. \in printing out flyers before, we were (in my understanding) lightly violating \kris's right of publicity. \by being his official street team, we'll have permission to make flyers, posters, whatever with his name and image on them. \they just need to be run by someone first, which shouldn't be a huge issue and, to be honest, \i'm glad of anyway. \the last thing in the world \i'd want to do is put out a flyer or whatever and have \kris/his people pissed off about it.

\they don't really want to exert too much control or influence over the group and are very content to let the fans run it as they see fit. \honestly, this helps the group far more than it does them, as now we can give away download cards and things.

\we've always been very upfront about the fact that it was unofficial "for now" but even in it's official state it will be very grass roots, very member-centric, and mobile.

\i hope this change doesn't dampen your enthusiasm, you've been a great, positive person here. \i'm really excited about the opportunities that come along with being the official street team - in reality it's just an aknowledgement from \kris that he's happy with what we're doing. \his management has more than enough to do without trying to micromanage his fans, so please don't worry about that.
Hey, Elle, I'm actually really confused. It doesn't seem like what you told us were the goals of the group were actually the goals.
Here is the link to the welcome post, which is what I emailed, posted to various places, and featured here for quite some time. http://littlepawns.com/forum/topics/welcome-to-little-pawns

In it, i mention that "for now" we are the UNofficial street team, but in the future we hope to cast off the prefix and enlargen our scope. I then go on to state some things we can do in the mean time (until we become official)

Diana, this really changes very little.
It was the way you introduced it that set the tone. And I understand that you were the salesperson, so you were going to go with the pitch that worked but the implication that I (and several other people) got was apparently very different than the reality. And I find that disappointing. I feel a bit like the wool was tugged over my eyes, yes?
but... the way i "sold" it is in the link above. i don't think any of that has changed, at all. how can getting help from his label/management on some of these things hurt? getting download cards, maybe in the future some merch support like allison's team had, having approval to put his name on things without fear of reproach or legal action...

in the very beginning of this,i was very clear that we hoped to be official. i think it's obvious that we'll better be able to promote kris with the approval and blessing of his management company. nothing we've done so far would have been turned down by management.

also, i sort of take offense at the suggestion that i "sold" the concept. i really, with all my heart, wanted and still want all kris's fans to come together and work on something. i'm proud of the fact that some of them have and dissappointed that others felt/still feel that such a thing is impossible. misleading people wouldn't have done anyone any good.
