Purple Team 2011 Check In!

Just want to start new and fresh for all the exciting new music ahead. The purple team is for the following states: VA, MD, WV, DE, PA, NJ, NY, MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME.

 

We're split into some smaller teams for radio work because our team is so big. I'm captain for the MidAtlantic (VA MD WV, DE PA), Julie M is captain for New England (CT, RT, VT, MA, NH, ME) and we are looking for someone who knows NY/NJ radio to step up and help us coordinate the NJ/NY radio efforts.

 

At this point though, we just want to check in with everyone, find out what area you are from and what radio stations you are listening to these days! So please reply in the comments with that info so we can all get re-aquainted as a team. :D

 

I'll begin - I'm Dorothy (twitter is @dy7764 and please follow me if you'd like), from Northern VA/DC. I listen to Hot 99.5 (DC) when the younger kid is in the car, Freshfm94.7 (DC) when she is not and B101.5 out of Fredericksburg is the station we can agree on (which, nicely and strangely enough, has just started playing LLWD again). Once in awhile I listen to country music stations too as I love that genre as well.

 

Looking forward to hearing about everyone on our team! (Or meeting you if I haven't already)

Hi! I'm Marissa(Marissa_Hormell) and I live nothwestern PA(or about an hour and a half north of Pittsburgh). When I do listen to the radio, I'm usually listening to Star 100.7, Q92.9(both popular music), and Froggy98.5/100.3(country). Country comes in the best around here, but Q92.9 is my favorite out of all of them.

So interesting that so far we all listen to the country station too! I am definitely going to tap your knowledge of PA radio as I have none really. :D

YES! Another southeastern Virginian! I'm Mary from VA Beach (@MerryMary05). If I listen to the radio, I generally alternate between The Current FM 88.5 (Christian), K-Love 90.7 (Christian), and 94.9 The Point (Hot AC)... otherwise I'm blaring my of CDs. I don't come on here a lot because of work, but I'll try to keep up. :)

I'm Annie (@ameeliu on Twitter). I live in RI, so I listen to 92.3 ProFM (a Citadel Top 40 type station) and 93.3 Coast (a Clear Channel station that used to play more soft pop, but now has been playing a lot more Top 40 type music like Katy P and Gaga). I grew up in Boston, so I still listen to KISS 108 (Clear Channel Top 40) and Mix 104.1 (CBS Radio) online. ProFM, KISS 108 and Mix 104.1 all have had Kris do radio shows in the past. I do also listen to KLove and Air1 (both Christian stations) online.

I live in MD, just over the border from DC. I don't listen to radio much - I usually use Pandora in the office (but I do Scrobble!).

 

I have been wondering if there's an opportunity in the new Fillmore in Silver Spring. It's a new venue and although they seem to be doing well in their bookings at this point, I know they need to build a regular audience. So perhaps it makes sense to approach them in a similar way - building a relationship so that when it's tour time, we can ask for a KA show.

Hi! Beth T here (newland21) - I live in Annapolis MD and pretty much listen to Mix 106.5 (Baltimore). I'll occasionally tune into a DC station like Mix 107.3 or another Baltimore AC or HotAC station.

I'm from CT too! I have not met any other Kris fans from CT. I have been to AR and have met many of the lovely people there. I will look you up on Twitter. I am trapped in a dental office all day, so I have to listen to Lite 100.5.  It always bothers me that they play almost every other idol. (kelly, david, daughtry, etc.) constantly, but I have only heard them play LLWD a couple of times. I spoke w/ a DJ there and Jive never even sent them THE TRUTH or ALRIGHT WITH ME. They are the biggest station in CT. I am going to try to target them in a nice way.
