Hi there Pawns!
Shows, and hurricanes, and Ghostbusters, OH MY! It's been an eventful week (plus) in the world of Kris Allen. Batten down the hatches and catch up on it all!
Last week started with a show at One World Theatre in Austin, TX, where Kris and the guys kept 'The River' (first introduced the previous Sunday in Dallas) in their setlist.
After hanging out in Austin for a couple of days, the guys headed over to College Station for a show at Texas A&M University, where once again they wowed the college crowd!
The club tour continued in Connecticut on Friday, at StageOne in Fairfield.
Next, they headed to NYC for an amazing double show at Joe's Pub. In honor of the doubleheader, Kris introduced an 'audience request' portion of the setlist. The crowd for the first show was treated to a beautiful first post-Idol performance of a song from Brand New Shoes, Kris's true first album. Check out this video of Wipe It Away! The performance prompted this article.
The second show at Joe's Pub had its own surprises, including multiple fan requests - Falling Slowly (which got the attention of Broadwayworld.com), a Sandy-inspired No Boundaries, and some Heartless for good measure!
Sunday brought Kris, Cale, Torres, and Big Daddy to Washington DC for a pre-Sandy performance at The Hamilton. Not to be outdone by the impending hurricane, Kris released a very special 'weather advisory' video that afternoon about his show.
Special thanks to the great people at The Hamilton and 94.7 Fresh FM for including us in their pre-show 'Sound Off with Kris Allen' event. The event included access to the end of sound check and a Q&A with Kris. Thanks to some awesome audience questions, we learned that the Christmas EP will be coming out on iTunes hopefully by Thanksgiving, and will include Holly Jolly Christmas, White Christmas, O Holy Night, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, and The Christmas Song.
Kris also shared that he'll be heading to Kenya right after Thanksgiving, as part of an awareness-raising project with World Vision.
Here's a video clip of the Q&A from The Hamilton, where we learn how Sky Mall may influence a future purchase!
The show itself was pretty fantastic. Kris continued his new 'audience request' tradition, treating the crowd to a beautiful solo version of Blindfolded!
Thanks to all of our awesome Promo Challenge entrants for these shows, you all did a great job of getting the word out!
Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy couldn't be avoided completely, and the October 29th show scheduled in Annapolis had to be postponed. It has been rescheduled for Monday, January 14. If you had tickets, check your email for more information.
The unexpected change of plans led to a couple extra days in DC for everybody..... which led to....
Kris said in this interview (which made the CBS radio rounds) that it's 'lame' to not dress up for Halloween. He's been talking about Halloweeen costume ideas for a few weeks now, and we finally got to see them on Monday night while the guys had a little extra time on their hands.

MISSION OF THE WEEK
Selecting this week's mission was pretty easy...if you've been affected by Hurricane Sandy or any of the related weather, take care of yourself, your family, and friends and know that we're sending all kinds of positive thoughts your way. If you weren't in the path of the storms, take a moment and find a way to help someone who was - through a donation, a kind word, or another show of support.
