Welcome everyone! This is the Official Kris Allen Street Team: Little Pawns. Your Little Pawns Team Leaders are: Kathy T, Emjay Huston, and Julie.
The goals of this Street Team are simple:
- To mobilize Kris Allen fans from all over the US and abroad in order to get the word out about Kris, his music and his amazing talent.
- To organize the fan base in such a way as to promote Kris.
- To broaden Kris's fanbase and get them to his shows.
We welcome anyone who would like to be part of this street team in any capacity. You don't have to make it a full time job, but we're hoping for some sort of commitment. Being part of this street team requires effort and tons of energy and enthusiasm. You have to be willing to call up radio stations and request, utilize social media in order to spread Kris's music, and keep focus as to the goals of the project.
While this may all sound like a lot of work, this is also potential for some fun. Kris fans are some of the funniest and most down-to-earth people we've encountered, and it's exciting to be involved in a project that benefits Kris but can also bring everyone together. So welcome everyone, we hope you all feel at home, and we hope we can all be fast friends!

To get started, I would recommend familiarizing yourselves with the Spinja Crash Course in the Radio Promo category, and sign up for your respective teams based on your region. We are currently working to get AWM to radio, so the more organized we all are, the better! Welcome, and I look forward to working with each of you :)

Hi!
The name is Magie and currently I am residing in Lincoln, Nebraska for that pesky thing called a college education and degree but I hail from Minnesota. My Kris-tory starts in April of 09 when a friend who was really into Idol [and Adam] asked me to vote for him, so naturally I watched to see what all the fuss was about and kinda just sorta fell in love with them all [yes even Gokey at times, hush]. Naturally Adam kinda blew me away vocally & Allison will always be my favorite because of both her badass voice and that hair! [I have a hair thing okay]. But then Kris opened his mouth and I was kinda surprised because...for lack of a cheesier description, he had the voice of an angel.
A month later I voted for Adam [since I couldn't Alli] and didn't cry a bit when Kris won...I didn't see a losing option really. Then started my spiral into fandom; it was fast an quick and awesome. I've been lucky [crazy to some] enough to see all of Kradison 4 times each and Kris has never failed to bring a stellar performance. I refuse to get overly mushy but let's just say I like him a whole lot for now. So far I fail at radio requesting but midwest kinda fails at having anything other than the forced & big top 40 hits...so I will now just have to harrass people. I am excited about this and ready to help get Kris more recognition that he deserves! xD <3

Yes I know this is not a common name, haha. I'm originally from West Africa, Ghana to be specific, so you could say I'm a Ghanaian-American.
I live in Lebanon, TN and operate a child care, because I love kids. But I'm so pissed that I've not been able to see him in concert yet because I have babies in my house every damn day and night, ughh! I know that will happen one day and very soon.
Though I watched all 7 seasons of Idol before Kris' season, I never had interest in any of the contestants but when I watched Kris sing MITM, he stood out to me.
My interest in him and his music grew after each performance so I googled him one day and found some of his fansites and some AI boards that I joined later. I was only very active on KRISALLENATION then but now thanks to the awesomeness or Kris I'm active on many of the other sites and have made lots of online friends I hope to meet one day.
Besides his talent, I love how selfless he is and how he loves to help the less priviledged. It really means a lot to me because of where I hail from and what can I give in return for all he does? This is why I'm here to help in any way I can to put his name out there.

Hello!
My name is Jo and I am from New Zealand. I first noticed Kris when he sang MITM, I had heard about the cute boy but never taken much notice until I saw him sing that song and then I was hooked. On the day of the finale I had to work but rushed home to go on line to listen to the result fully expecting Adam to win, deleriously happy when it was Kris, I couldn't believe it. Have been following his every move since. I have tried to do my part for Kris over here, requesting his songs etc but NZ is not really Kris country - at the moment. I don't listen to the radio much so I have not heard AWM but I know The Truth was played at least once, LLWD was quite popular. Anyway, excited about AWM and hope it does really well, will keep requesting it and mentioning it whenever I can.

Hi, I'm Meghan and I live in New York. Kris was my favorite on Idol from MITM on and I have never followed (read: stalked) an Idol's post-Idol career in my nine years of watching the show as much as I have Kris'. Not only is his voice amazing and himself selfless, but it seems as though his performances and acts of kindess only defy my expectations each and every time. I just saw him open for Lifehouse on Sunday and was blown away yet again by him, the band and the crowd
s reaction to him.
I've been VERY frustrated by the lack of promo surrounding Kris, and am now even more so after seeing the excellent reaction the crowd had to him as an opener over the weekend. Everyone was surprised that it was him who sang LLWD and that's not how it should be at all. I would love to be a part of something that helps Kris gain recognition and the attention that he deserves.

I have such a phobia of intro posts, gosh.
So. I'm that hot feathered mess that most people know as Birdie. I promise my parents gave me a nice, normal name, but I'm pretty sure that if you use it you're only going to get confused looks in response. You might know me from twitter as @painted_birdie.
I'm a twenty-something graphic designer/illustrator/cartoonist/tea specialist extraordinaire, based just outside of Toronto, Ontario. You might know me as 'that chick who draws the comics', and if so, cool. Crudely-drawn artwork aside, however, I really hope I can provide this street team with 2-D graphics assistance whenever it's needed. I'm currently working in the art department of Cassidy Haley's record label, and my interest lies primarily in music/artist promotion. I'd really like to hear Kris on Canadian radio more, and I'm really hopeful that AWM ends up making a significant impression on Canadian charts.
TL;DR HOW I CAME TO LOVE KRIS (AND BECOME ADDICTED TO THAT TERRIBLE SHOW IN THE PROCESS):
I wasn't an American Idol fan when season 8 aired - in fact, I was one of those people making fun of people for watchingthat overrated karaoke contest. And then my mother forcibly sat me down and made me watch Adam Lambert perform Ring Of Fire and I was completely, utterly, shamelessly hooked. Yes, like many people here, I started out as an Adam fan. But slowly and surely, that Kris Allen guy made himself known to me, and Falling Slowly was the performance that probably sealed my fate forever. I already had an emotional attachment to Falling Slowly, having watched Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova win an Oscar for it (the memory still makes me a little verklempt). To see that beautiful song, from the little indie movie that could, performed so well... I was a goner. From that moment on, my attention was split equally, and when they announced the top two for that season, I honestly could not have been happier. The music of both men is the embodiment of two different aspects of my personality, and I have the highest respect for each of them.
Even when drawing them as stick people.

A huge thanks to those who put so much effort into getting this off the ground - I'm thrilled this street team exists and I'm looking forward to meeting more of Kris' fans. :) xx B

Hello all. I'm Tom (arkey1119 on twitter). I'm married to Lisa (wasajo on twitter), father of 2, grandfather (pappy) to 1 with another grand on the way in April. I've watched American Idol since the first season and was excited to have an Arkansas contestant on the show. I really got excited when I began to realize what a talent Kris Allen had. I enjoyed his performances on AI, and I've seen him live twice, once full band headlining show, once just Kris and Cale at a benefit show. Looking forward to seeing him as the opener for Lifehouse next week.
I'm not what a lot of people would consider a stan. I guess as an almost 50 year old man, it's ok if I don't get all 'fan-girly'. LOL I do like his music (have the CD in my truck to prove it), and I have contacted my local radio station to get airplay for Alright with Me.
