Little Pawns

Welcome everyone! This is the Official Kris Allen Street Team: Little Pawns. Your Little Pawns Team Leaders are: Kathy T, Emjay Huston, and Julie.

The goals of this Street Team are simple:

  1. To mobilize Kris Allen fans from all over the US and abroad in order to get the word out about Kris, his music and his amazing talent.
  2. To organize the fan base in such a way as to promote Kris.
  3. To broaden Kris's fanbase and get them to his shows.

We welcome anyone who would like to be part of this street team in any capacity. You don't have to make it a full time job, but we're hoping for some sort of commitment. Being part of this street team requires effort and tons of energy and enthusiasm. You have to be willing to call up radio stations and request, utilize social media in order to spread Kris's music, and keep focus as to the goals of the project.

While this may all sound like a lot of work, this is also potential for some fun. Kris fans are some of the funniest and most down-to-earth people we've encountered, and it's exciting to be involved in a project that benefits Kris but can also bring everyone together. So welcome everyone, we hope you all feel at home, and we hope we can all be fast friends!

If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions please let us know by emailing littlepawns@gmail.com

Have fun, guys! And welcome! Take a look at our "Getting Started" section to...well, get started! ;)

lol girl you don't even want to know the words coming out of my mouth at the time. Actually Emjay knows them. but she'll never tell. Look. I'm from MILWAUKEE. Why do you think I started watching Idol? (L.M.A.O) I started watching for Gokey and pretty much just YT'd his performances - I didn't really care for his voice but he's from here so i wanted to keep up with the office gossip. Well, a friend found out I was doing this and forced me to start watching Adam. Fell in love fast so I started watching the show, and could nevber figure out why the judges were so mean to "that little cute one."

Well when it was down to the final 2, I was Adam all the way, and I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't react very graciously. But I was legit over it two days later. My heart still clenches up when i watch the original heartless performance. When I saw that, my heart knew. It's very bitter sweet for me now. But I wouldn't change anything, really. everything happened just as it should have.

LOL You are me. I was RAGINGGGG after the finale. It is quite embarrassing, to say the least. I got over it rather quickly tho! And now, I am as big of a Kris fan as I am of Adam. Love them both to pieces and will be following their careers for a long time! Im just not a minion of any of Adam's body parts or anything. o.O lol
Hi. I'm Jamie. I'm from Texas. I like Kris Allen and his lovely band people.

I am like Elle. Started all about Adam... I didn't rage and cry when Kris won AI, though. I had already begun to see his charm and I'd realized by Top 4 he pretty much had it in the bag. Anyway, even a year ago... I liked Kris. Met him a couple times, had some laughs with him before a few AI shows, knew he was good and all but, I was still mostly ADAM. Yeah....that's different now. My heart beats for Kris or something cheesy like that. I love love love that boy and want the world for him. He deserves it. I just want to help everyone else who doesn't know he's amazing yet.... realize that he is. Totally amazing.

So, yeah. That's me. This should be fun. :)

(P.S. I still like Adam and all. Mad talented, sweetheart, love him forever but, yeah. )
Hi, I'm Bridget. I'm originally from Jacksonville Florida, but moved out to Los Angeles a year ago. I was a fan of Kris while he was on idol, and voted for him in the finale. I blame April for pushing me over the edge. She got me to participate in his birthday video the summer of 2009 and that was the end of it. Once I moved out to California it has been nothing but going to show after show, starting with the Sacramento Jingle Ball. Yes, I even went to the Bahamas. Currently I am an intern for a woman that is a casting director/manager/producer. With money being tight I now stay just in my little area when it comes to shows. When I'm at a concert I flail my little heart out, but when interacting with Kris and the band I am always respectful.

I'm pretty much the same online as I am in person. I'm level headed, and try to live by the philosophy of just agreeing to disagree if I don't see eye to eye with someone. I naturally fall into a subservient roll if you will. I take direction well, that being said I can also be a good leader if it is required of me. I have a slightly sarcastic sense of humor, but I can't keep up with 90% of the people on twitter when it comes to snark. I enjoy it, just don't expect a lot of it to be coming from me. Pretty much what you see is what you get with me. I'm what you'd call a chill person.

I am pretty passionate when it comes to Kris. I know he has the potential to be big. I don't think it will happen overnight, but I think we can help. I'll be happy to help however I can. (fair warning, I'm a pretty awful speller, so get ready for that) :P
Hi,

I'm kickyfeet from Malaysia. That's not my real name obv, and I hope you guys don't mind that I don't include my name here. I swear I'm not a serial killer or anything, just a girl who's a tad too keen on separating her RL and fandom. :D

I started liking Kris as soon as I set my eyes on him in the MITM episode. Yeah it was for shallow reasons, but the man is pretty and there's no denying that. TMYFML was the episode that really melted my heart and officially turned me into a Krisbert (albeit the term Krisbert only came after the season ended). At one point I even followed a fake Kris on twitter, believing it was really him and totally flailed when "Kris" tweeted, "Feels so good playing on my guitar as I'm drinking (something)". Oh how I was gullible.

The moment Kris was announced the new American Idol, I was driving to work. I was intent on not finding out the result through any means other than the rerun later that night, so I played a CD as I was driving, and when I reached the office, didn't login to Facebook/twitter, was careful to not open any website especially Yahoo/MSN, and even made an announcement to my colleagues to NOT say anything at all. All that effort was to no avail because a) My best friend rang me up sounding excited for me and b) A friend texted me saying how it was so worth skipping work to see the cutie win. YAY...? It was a pretty mixed feeling for me because his victory was spoiled for me so I didn't get to actually savour it nor did I get to screaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmm in front of my TV. O well.

Enough about my Kris background. Now about what I can offer to the team. If you've been following me on twitter you probably already know that I tend to get behind on Kris news because of work and RL and stuff. But I'm pretty passionate about getting Kris played on Malaysian radio, so I can promise you that I do my fair share of song requests. From what I've been reading about the US radio and my observation on the Malaysian radio, I don't think the systems are the same...? I'm still trying to understand how it works over here. Like, why Lee's Sweet Serendipity was already on air 1 day after its US premiere, and why I still haven't heard AWM. Granted, I only listen to the radio when I drive to and from work, so I could've easily missed it. What I like about my local radio though is that they would play whatever song they like even though it's not a single. And from what I've been told by my friends, they've heard AWM playing a looooot of times when TT first came out. So there ya go.

If there's anything else I can do to help, I totally would. I've only been in 2 fandoms in my life ever, and the other one was when I was 11, and ended when I was 12... so I'm pretty much a no0b.

Sorry for the TL;DR!
Welcome, everyone! I'm so happy to see the membership increasing overnight and want to thank you all for expressing your enthusiasm for this project. If you haven't yet, a great place to start are the Promo sections of the forum. You can check out Radio Promo if you'd like to find out which team you are in and how you can get AWM on the radio in your city.
Hi I'm Nury/Catalm, whatever you want to call me, I'm ok with either :D. I live in Miami, FL which means I've been lucky enough to have seen Kris 6 times (including Idol tour), and I'm going to go see him in Vegas and San Francisco and of course Orlando in December (for some reason he loves my state, yay!).

Judging from this description, you'd think I'm some crazy Krisbert, lol and I am, but it wasn't always that way. I was an Adam fan (still am) and I was one of those who threw something at the TV when Kris won (hahaha) but then Kris, with his sneaky ways weaved himself into my life. I think it all happened when I tricked my husband into going with me to a Dolphins game back in October 09 & what do you know? Kris was performing there for the first time with his band. I just loved seeing him perform live, his voice is so soulful and he really connects with the audience.

I haven't done much to help aside from my daily tweet request to Y-100 and Mix 105.1 but I definitely want to do more.
Hey guys, I'm Amy! I live in Southern California and I adore Kris. I go to A LOT of shows so most likely you'll see me at one. It's kinda embarrassing to admit how many times I've seen Kris live--actually I don't think I even know anymore! But what can I say? I love the little dude. There's something about his music that just makes me smile. On top of that, he's just such a great, normal guy and I think he's got what it takes to be an extremely successful musician for many, many years to come. He really has a gift.
Anyway, I hate talking about myself but I'm here to help in anyway possible. I have a lot of experience with Street Teaming so just holler if you need anything. I'm not much of a rah-rah cheerleader type but I'm one hell of a planner. I also tend to have a brilliant idea every now and then so feel free to pick my brain ;)
hi guys! i'm robin! i became a fan of kris during idol and i admit, i did cry (happy tears) when he won! (even tho my huz thought i was CRAAAAAAAAAZY.) i live in arkansas & i work in the TV business. i also blog for Kris Allen Addicts & am co-director for AI Now. i have seen kris live at least 10 times so far & he & the KAB get better every time i see them. how is that possible when they were so good to start with? anyway, i'm excited about forming this unofficial street team...and hope that we'll become OFFICIAL very soon! i'll do whatever i can to promote kris because i think he is awesome and i totally love his entire family. if you've never met kim or katy, you should because they are amazing women! anyway, i look forward to getting to know all of y'all!!!! if you have questions, just ask. i'm pretty much an open book! :)
I just want to thank you, Daniel, Elle, Emjay, Robin, Nick and everyone who is organizing this. I think it will be great and I loved the intro message from Elle.

For those who don't know me, I'm @dy7764 on twitter, also @krinjalists (the twitter lists for the Kris shows), dy77 on LJ, and Dorothy in real life. :)

This is not the first fandom I've been in, but it's definitely the coolest - have met some really awesome people. The other cool thing for me personally is that while I have fangirled over many, Kris is the first person that I have fangirled over since the start of his career. I really believe in his potential and musical gifts. Corny but that's what it is. So I'm happy to help however I can.

Oh and go Team Purple!
Hi. I'm Kristina!

Umm... I've loved Kris since the beginning of Idol. I remember seeing him in the top 36 and thinking 'omg I want the cute boy to make it!' but I was already a huge Adam fan. I loved them both but I wanted Adam to win, so I was pretty pissed when it was Kris. I got over it an hour later and I watched all of his performances and cried thinking 'oh my god, he won!' and I was all proud.

I've only had the chance to see Kris once and that makes me sad. I'm a poor college student and can't afford to travel to his shows. I'm hoping that he comes closer sometime soon because I'm having withdrawals and I really need to go to a show.

I suck with words, so I don't really know what else to say.
