Permalink Reply by Nick on November 1, 2010 at 10:02pm Oh, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to suggest that you ever suggested spamming radio stations. I was kind of trying to make the point of why I think tweeting jive is not a big deal in the scheme of things. That there are worse things fans could do, lol. And also to tie in to why the adds date is that important. I apologize if it came off wrong.

Permalink Reply by Nick on November 1, 2010 at 10:53pm Hey Nick, can you clarify something for me?
I've been talking to a station program director (cultivating a relationship, but only in radio-land, not in real life), and he told me that every monitored station has a copy of AWM. He said that if people are being told a station doesn't have it, it's because it's an unmonitored station.
Question 1 - is that true? (I have no reason to doubt this guy, but really, I don't know him, and he could be blowing enough smoke for his own Smoke and Mirrors tour.)
Question 2 - if the monitored stations have the song, then requesting it (no more than once a day, politely, with a follow up thanks if you hear it) is definitely something we can do, regardless of any add date, right?
Question 3 - if the station is unmonitored (in which case, we're getting more people to hear the song, but it doesn't count on the reports, right?), can we gift them a copy of the song? Or is that silly or ridiculous in any way? I suppose it's better to have contact with the PD and offer to gift them the song, and get their iTunes email account and all that.
Thanks. I appreciate all the info you're sharing.
